Today I am reviewing For Love & Bourbon by Katie Jennings.
Blurb: Along Kentucky’s Bourbon Trail lies a distillery that’s a cut above the rest. For years, the Brannon family has perfected their signature whiskey. Ava Brannon, the new face of Lucky Fox Whiskey, dedicates her life to preserving that legacy. When Special Agent Cooper Lawson comes to investigate her father for his ties to the Irish Republican Army, she has no choice but to face the deadly secrets of her family’s past. Only nothing is as it seems, and her burning attraction to Cooper could either be a recipe for disaster or her saving grace.
My Review: I think this is my favorite book by this author so far. I love all the fact of distilling that are woven into this story. The main character Ava is a rich and complex woman that gives much to the story. There is enough action to keep you interested and a twist or two along the way. I give this book a 5 star.

Today I am reviewing Louisiana Longshot by Jana Deleon.
It was a hell of a long shot….
CIA assassin Fortune Redding is about to undertake her most difficult mission ever—in Sinful, Louisiana. With a leak at the CIA and a price placed on her head by one of the world’s largest arms dealers, Fortune has to go off-grid, but she never expected to be this far out of her element. Posing as a former beauty queen turned librarian in a small bayou town seems worse than death to Fortune, but she’s determined to fly below the radar until her boss finds the leak and puts the arms dealer out of play. Unfortunately, she hasn’t even unpacked a suitcase before her newly inherited dog digs up a human bone in her backyard.
Thrust into the middle of a bayou murder mystery, Fortune teams up with a couple of seemingly sweet old ladies whose looks completely belie their hold on the little town. To top things off, the handsome local deputy is asking her too many questions. If she’s not careful, this investigation might blow her cover and get her killed. Armed with her considerable skills and a group of elderly ladies the locals dub The Geritol Mafia, Fortune has no choice but to solve the murder before it’s too late.
My Review: This book is just what I needed to read after the creepy murder one I read last. This one is full of laughter and still has a thread of mystery running through it. The older ladies of Sinful keep things hopping every minute and it has a great ending that will keep me reading more of the Miss Fortune sagas. I give this book solid 4 stars for keeping me laughing.

Today I am reviewing Hush by Anne Frasier.
What’s your greatest fear?
It’s criminal profiler Ivy Dunlap’s job to unravel the psyches of the most dangerous men alive. None haunts her dreams more than the killer who took her son’s life sixteen years ago, then silently disappeared into the dark. Now an urgent request for help from the Chicago police has reawakened Ivy’s greatest nightmare. The Madonna Murderer has returned to fulfill his calling. This time Ivy understands the killer and will face her greatest fear to stop him from killing again.
My Review: Creepy. A good creepy if you are into thriller books. I got really engrossed in the book. It is like an intense criminal minds show. If you get spooked by noises in the night you might want to read it in the daytime though. There are a few editing problems but it is a good read I give it 4 stars.
